As we get ready to welcome the summer season, I wanted to take a moment to update you on a few major initiatives currently underway at First Tech, and provide a quick overview of our credit union's recent performance.


Improved Debit and Credit Cards >

In the coming months, we’ll introduce new MasterCard® debit and credit cards equipped with advanced Chip and PIN technology, making them more secure than many other cards in the market today. Our new cards will replace your existing card(s) in an effort to help protect you from fraud. We’re also enhancing our benefit and rewards programs and believe our credit cards will lead the nation when considering security, rewards and low rates.

Making a Difference in Your Community >

During the first quarter of 2015, First Tech employees donated more than 3,600 hours of personal time in support of local organizations. We’re well on our way to achieving our annual goal of 20,000 community service hours and giving or raising $3 million in support of charitable organizations.

As you may have heard, we’re also partnering with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to save and better the lives of children living near you. With your help, we can make actual miracles happen. We’re currently working in Washington, D.C. and with state legislatures throughout the nation to protect the co-operative movement and our ability to continue providing you with the economic and service benefits unique to credit unions. We’re extremely proud to be a member-owned financial cooperative. With 400,000 members living across all 50 states and in 20 foreign countries, our mission is to help provide a better financial future for your family, friends, co-workers and community. Through the first quarter of 2015:

  • We helped more than 11,200 members purchase a new home, buy a new car, open a new credit card, or obtain a personal line of credit.
  • Our members took advantage of great deposit rates by opening more than 22,000 new deposit accounts, representing nearly $200 million in deposit growth.
  • More than 8,300 new members joined the First Tech family.
  • We generated record asset growth of more than $334 million, with $25 million in net income and members’ equity. This was achieved while showing improvements in member satisfaction surveys.
